Fall 2014 New Things Happening

This Fall I am running another set of programming experiences ! Check out :

CIS 1101 ONLN This begining programming experiences uses Visual Logic and Python to learn the logic of programming.

CIS 1101 KC We are trying out a new approach. We'll be using Nexus 7 tablets and writing mobile app in App Inventor. Then we'll progress to using Processing to add more visual power to the apps.

CIS 111B - Both the Tuesday evening class and the online class will be expanding their understanding of Java to build up to a major final project at the end of term.

Fall 2013 Up and At 'Em!

Here we go again !!

I am teaching a series of programming courses:

CIS 1101  Online - We'll give you the tools to understand and create programs to control computers.

CIS 111B  Online and Classroom - Second semseter programming course using Java. We focus on filling in gaps and emphasizing object oriented techniques. Coursework culminates with a group project that is demoed at a college-wide open Tech Transfer Day.

CIS 112 Online Last of three course series in programming. uses java. We begin to use trees, graphs, hash tables and other exotics to get things done faster!

Fall 2011 Semester is Here

The construction is coming to an end and the campus looks amazing! For this Fall I'll be running classes on programmg, from cis 1101 to cis 112.

CIS 1101 starts with a visual tool to make programming almost syntax free. and then adds on the very hot language Python. CIS 111B is a 2nd semester of java and we really get into amazing ideas and students use other's code (via the wonder of open APIs) to do stunning projects. Finally CIS 112 concludes our java series with a look at algorithms - how to measure their performance and pick the appropriate algorithm for hte right setting.
